What is Hill Tribe Silver?
Hill Tribe Silver is traditionally handcrafted by artisans of the Karen Hill, The Hmong and the Yao Tribes, who have been passing this silversmithing method on for generations in the hills of Northern Thailand, Myanmar and Southern Laos.
Thai silver pieces are amazing works of art, all made by hand, and little or no machinery. Because of this, no two pieces are exactly alike. Beads are hammered and etched, and others are sculpted into shapes, often emulating objects from nature such as ladybugs, butterflies, fish, ocean shells, leaves, and many different types of flowers.
Although the finished beads are not as bright as Sterling Silver, the higher quality of HillTribe silver means it holds its shine and luster longer & is generally more resistant to tarnish.
